Your First Boyfriend or Girlfriend

First grade, Bonner Elementary, Mrs. Messer's class, Everett Bartoff.  I think he disappeared after first grade.  He stood on his desk and said he loved me and was going to get me a diamond ring.  He was super cool because he had little pistols on the corners of his eyeglasses.     I was shy and mortified while secretly being very impressed.

That is so sweet.  I can't remember my first boyfriend's last name but his first name was Larry. Our sisters were the same age and they thought it would be cute if we traded disks however I lost his and had to buy him a new one so it did not end well.

Everett Bartoff   !!!!!!!      He was from Chapel Hill in High School.  We ran around together (mostly at the lake)  I was at his wedding,  he got married in Springfield Mo.  We had a football game the day of the wedding and he and Larry Blackerby ran into each other.  Guess who lost that one.  Several stiches above his eye the day of the wedding.   There were four of us guys that went up there for the wedding... we left that night right after it.

You have to be kidding.  Now I'm horrified because I'm sure he would never remember such a thing.  I think he lived up the hill from me at the time.

(Was he still cute?  Did he still have guns on his glasses?)

I was thinking.. it was Jr. College that I met him.  There were some guys that came out to the lake house all the time to ski.  (I lived out there for a while). ( several times)  I am not the one to judge if he was cute...  we terrorized the high seas.. lake Tyler lol

Ann,

We don't have any contact info on Steve but have been told he might be in Oklahoma City or the Tulsa area. If anyone knows how to reach him please let us know or call him directly and ask him to sign up.

David, this picture of you is still my favorite.  What a perfectly devilish little boy hiding behind that toothless grin.  It perfectly pictures the grown man.

Did you have fun playing in the snow yesterday?

Looking back at these posts brings back some good memories.  I never posted my first girlfriend so I might as well horrify her by telling.  Sharon Fitzgerald, Dixie Elementary,  I really had this thing about long brown hair.   Now did Sharon know she was my girlfriend??? She knew I liked her.  I know the teacher put me in the desk behind her because she could see how I felt.  I was the short, fat, "four eyes" kid.  John Hills was my rival,  tall, slim, good looking, popular.    In today’s world they would have set me to therapy for even thinking she was my girlfriend. I always have been a day dreamer.  I think they call it “A-D-D” now.  She was also the first girl I kissed.  I planned it for weeks, the last day of school everyone was getting on the buses to go home for summer vacation and I went up to her and kissed her.  Then ran.
