I first met Larry at JT Spring training 1966?.  We were in the gym because of weather and I was a Linebacker and he was offensive tackle,  I remember the shock of how fast that big guy got off the line and knocked the fool out of me.  I dreaded every snap of the ball.   Our Sophomore year I got my knee blown out in the Marshal game and when we got back to JT i was having trouble getting up the steps and Larry came and picked me up and carried me to the top and helped me to my car in the parking lot.  Larry was a groomsman in my wedding and I in his.  We spent may a hunting trip together and hours and hours on the lake skiing and just having fun.  That smile and that laugh will be missed but never forgotten.

Dad's memorial service will be on Saturday, March 7 from 1-4 in the Camellia room of the Rose Garden Center in Tyler. This will be very informal, as Dad didn't actually even want a memorial service... We will have light refreshments. There will be other groups in the building at the same time, and parking will be at Harvey Hall. If you have any stories you would like to share about Dad, online or in person, please do so.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice in the Pines in Lufkin.
