Roger D. Boone

I want all our classmates that have gone on before us to have a rose by their name in the profile list so I am adding this to all of them.  dc

Roger was the life of the party. He was as handsome as they make em. He had a great personality and loved to laugh. I miss him so much. When he was 13, he and I got into a pencil fight and I lost. I still have the lead in my right hand to remind me of Roger and his mischievous ways. He had the greatest blonde hair on the planet.

Roger was a gifted athlete in his youth. While I did not attend school with him during the elementary and Jr. High years, I faced him on the field. He hit some of the longest home runs and who could forget that smile and laugh. Yes and he was a handsome young man. I am sure there were many young ladies who would agree. Harold Martin

We moved to Tyler the summer before the 6th grade. I got to play catcher for Roger and Mike Palmer. What a 1-2 punch that was. I think we were called the Royals.

Roger was our'Fonzy' when we were kids. We got into too much trouble but it was a fun childhood. Later we worked at an oil company together where he broke my finger with a sledge hammer.

I miss him.

I first met Roger in the First grade. Every boy our age at Douglas idealized Roger. Like Gary said, he was our Fonzy. The best at every sport, the coolest guy, and pretty tough. On the playground at school everyone wanted to be on Roger's team. I know he had problems later, but if he could only have known what kind of leader he could have been. I also played baseball with him and remember his fast ball and how fast he could knock one out of Andy Woods field. Roger was my friend and I miss him.

WHEN I FIRST MOVED TO DOUGLAS SCHOOL IT WAS IN THE 4TH GRADE OR 5TH. NO ONE LIKED ME..GUYS NOR GIRLS. MAYBE THAT IS WHY I AM A LITTLE TOUCHED. ANYWAY, ALL THE COMMENTS APPLY TO ROGER. SO HANDSOME, I BELIEVE LITTLE LUCKY DEBBIE ELLINGTON (CHER) CAUGHT HIS EYE.

THIS IS THE TYPICAL ROGER...I FRACTURED MY SHOULDER AND HAD TO WEAR A SLING AND I REMEMBER ROGER WALKING UP TO ME AND HITTING MY ARM AND SAYING YOU'RE NOT HURT...REMEMBER THAT ROGER?????

MISS & LOVE U....
